Mind Art Experience Lab (MAE Lab) is a multidisciplinary initiative from Mind Science Centre under the National University Singapore (NUS) School of Medicine. MAE Lab brings together scientists and practitioners in art and architecture to foster collaboration and research. Exploring the impact of the arts and architecture on the human brain and behaviour, MAE Lab’s mission is to develop mental resilience and enhance the way we live.
Together we created a video portraying the immediate connection between our body and the environment. The video will be a part of an “Embodied Space” exhibition showcasing a scope of work that I have produced during my academic fellowship at the NUS School of Medicine. The exhibition is scheduled for end of 2020, so this article is focusing on presenting the process and a couple of still images from the video.
“Discovering the Land of Wonders” is a video inspiring you to explore everyday situations and places holistically. It is inviting you to mindfully observe all of your thoughts, feelings and body sensations, when you are experiencing something very ordinary. This means facing also what you may find unpleasant, difficult or overwhelming. Living a healthy and meaningful life in the city is not about trying to get somewhere else, but about being fully aware and present, curious and playful where and as you are.
